The #up-side-down-life challenge.
My son (9)
challenged me to do a handstand every day of the last term of 2020. I asked him
why? His answer to me was: "You like handstands and life is so strange
these day so lets do something fun.."
That made
me think…
Seven years
ago, November 2013, my little Happy family's life was turned up-side-down
as we know it, after we learnt
that my kids' beloved father was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer. Only
8 weeks after we received this news he passed away at the beginning of 2014.
Life will never be normal again, was my first reaction. Our lives are up-side-down forever!!
However, 7
years later, if you ask me (and I hope my kids too) whether we live a normal
life, we would all agree that life is good. Up-side-down
is not so bad after all.
I have
started doing handstands after my husband died when the kids and me were on
holiday or when we were exploring, to make my kids laugh and show them that fun
is all around us. In the beginning it was hard and not always perfect but with
time it got easier and much more fun. In a sense it made me think of life.
Sometimes when life turns up-side-down
it may seem difficult at first, however, gets easier and more fun with time.
So I
thought I will take on the challenge of my son and do a handstand every day in
November and celebrate our #upsidedownlife.
I hereby
challenge you to also do something fun and out of your comfort zone… you never
know when life might turn up-side-down….
